I find that cheap premium yoga mats come at a hidden price. Although these yoga mats might be comfortable and come with an extra layer of thickness, the way companies keep costs down is to offer the yoga mat at a reduced length or use cheaper material that doesn't last.
The yoga mats are usually around 5 feet or below in length and this is how companies can offer them at a reduce price, but at the end of the day the customer really suffers. To put your knees and hands on the yoga mat at once would be a real struggle and to extend your body just isn't possible.
Always do research into the yoga mat that you want to purchase. Look at length, thickness, quality and cost. Length should be 6ft as this will allow most people to extend and complete exercises or workouts on the yoga mat without being restricted. Thickness is important for comfort and most cheap yoga mats are usually around 4mm in thickness, I feel this is too thin and doesn't give enough protection from the hard ground. The quality of a yoga mat is important as they should be made to last and use high quality materials. The cost can vary in Yoga mats from €15 to €80 euro, look for a yoga mat that offers all your requirements at the best price. Most companies should supply all this information and if they don't then your best option is to find a company that does.
